Carey's Camp Youth
Carey's Camp recognizes the youth of the Camp are our future. We strive to make families feel welcome and children want to come back to Camp year after year.
VBS Closing Program 2023
In memory of Elaine Tingle
Free ice cream for all participants was donated in loving memory of Elaine Tingle by her friends Karen and Marsha.
This year there were donations made to our youth
in memory of Elaine Tingle.
Ms. Elaine enjoyed Camp every year with her grandchildren and
was quick to support any programs that benefitted our youth.
We are thankful for Elaine's mother and sisters who knew how important Carey's Camp was to the Tingle family. They wanted to donate something that Camp could use
for many years to help
making doing t-shirts
a little easier.
We were able to
try out our new
hand crank wringers
this year and it truly
made the process a
little easier.
Vacation Bible School
Carey's Camp VBS has become the highlight summer activity for many kids in our area. Most of our teachers and helpers throughout the program are Camp kids themselves who get to continue to participate in VBS each year.
This year we had a Stellar time where kids learned to shine Jesus' light in many of life's different circumstances. Our VBS program was bursting at over 160 kids each day, we are thankful that so many people chose to come and be a part of Carey's Camp.
Carey's Church graciously supports the VBS program every year. Through making snacks every day, monetary donations, and volunteers the Church helps to make the program extremely successful.
Year after year Carey's Camp VBS continues to grow and thrive under the direction of Keri Justice and her amazing team of volunteers who make it all possible.
Tie Dye Traditions
Each year Carey's Camp Kids get to tie dye t-shirts they then wear to the closing program. This is a huge undertaking as the shirts are prepped, ruberbanded, dyed, rinsed, and dried all over the course of a few days.
The kids and adults alike enjoy sporting their annual shirts each year and everyone looks forward to this longstanding tradition.
The amount of shirts we do yearly has tripled since the beginning and our amazing tie dye volunteers have mastered this process and help to make it take place year after year.
Youth Services
From Saturday- Thursday evenings at 7:30pm, we offer Youth Services for kids in Elementary- High School.
Tim and Julie Brining bring so much enthusiasm to the elementary kids as they bring the nightly message together with fun and game in the tent in front of the church.
Various youth leaders from our community bring the message to our middle- high school kids in the Jr. Tabernacle. These leaders use song, games, and interactive activities to encourage and engage our youth.
After VBS Activities
We would like to thank the members of our community who volunteer their time to make our VBS week so memorable. The traditional Fire Truck Rides, Hay Rides and Water Slides were also complimented by a visit from the Delaware State Police Helicopter!
Thank you!
A special thank you to East Side Car Wash for funding the Water Slide Inflatables for Thursday and the bounce house and obstacle course inflatables for Friday's Picnic.
Pro Parties, LLC provides the best customer service and helps to make sure we have everything we need for hours of enjoyment!
Friday Night Family Picnic by Carey's Church
Carey's Church hosts a picnic for VBS, Church and Camp families on the Friday night before the closing program. This has been a great way for families to meet and enjoy an evening at Camp before the Closing Program.
S'mores All Around
There's not much better than S'mores around the campfire and games with your best Camp friends.
